Fuel seen dangerously close to £2 a litre at petrol station

UK fuel prices continue to soar to new highs.

A photographer spotted a Shell garage in Wimborne, Dorset displaying high prices on Wednesday.

Diesel was listed at 193.9p per litre, while unleaded has reached 175.9p.

Data company Experian Catalist had reported the average cost of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts on Sunday was 155.62p, with diesel at a record high of 161.28p.

On 28 February, motoring organisation AA reported the highest petrol price in the South East for unleaded was 149.2 p/litre, while diesel was 152.8 p/litre.
