A Bucks Herald campaign to lower fuel prices in its circulation area appears to be working - against the odds. The paper reports today that the cost of unleaded petrol at some garages dropped by 7p during the week. Evidently, Aylesbury motorists have been paying some of the highest fuel prices in the country, with motorists paying almost 10p more per litre than neighbouring towns. In January, the Herald pointed to the discrepancy and the local MP supported its campaign by lobbying the Office of Fair Trading. Though the OFT refused to launch an inquiry it appears that fuel companies have heeded the protests. (Via Bucks Herald )
