SYDNEY (Reuters) - The fuel pipeline that supplies New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, closed for investigations on Sunday after an alarm went off on the line and was reopened later in the day.
Refining New Zealand, which owns the pipeline, shut the pipeline as a precautionary measure after an alarm went off, but after a series of checks restarted the pipeline at 6 p.m.
"Based on the information from our investigation we believe there was no leak," the company told Reuters in an emailed statement.
In September, Auckland suffered a five-day fuel shortage disrupting air travel after the Refining NZ pipeline to Auckland was damaged by a digger.
