FTSE rally peters out

Today's FTSE rally seems, much like Monday's, to be petering out.

The blue-chip index is up 10 points at 14:26 at 5,104, having been as high as 5,193 at one stage today.

It may be another case of investors "selling the rallies" as JP Morgan Cazenove put it yesterday.

Ahead of the US opening, Dow Jones futures are pointing to a 53 point, or 0.5%, rise.
