Thailand risks becoming a "dumping ground" for steel from exporters flagged in the Trump administration's tariff measures, warns the Federation of Thai Industries.
The FTI and local steel producers will discuss how to prevent the possible influx of steel from affected exporters at a global steel trader forum in Japan next week.
Korrakod Padungjit, secretary-general of the FTI's iron and steel industry club, told the Bangkok Post that the federation is preparing data to assess the long-term impact of US tariffs imposed last week on steel and aluminium.
