The top five spots in this week's rankings remained unchanged: Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan and Washington. The Crimson Tide earned 56 of the 62 possible first-place votes.

Louisville, which had a bye week, remained at seven.

Wisconsin (4-1), which had a bye week before facing No. 2 Ohio State this week, moved up three spots to eighth. Tennessee (5-1) remained at No. 9 despite the loss to Texas A&M and Nebraska (5-0) rounded out the top 10.

The SEC led the way again with seven teams in the poll followed by the ACC (5), Big Ten (4), Big 12 (3), Pac-12 (2), American (2), Mountain West (1) and Mid-American (1).
