FSU football lands Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook

Florida State's quarterback depth is getting a much-needed boost.

Wisconsin's Alex Hornibrook announced Sunday that he will join the Seminoles. As a graduate transfer, Hornibrook will be eligible immediately.

That part is key for FSU, which had been dangerously thin at the position after dismissing starter Deondre Francois last month. Francois' departure left James Blackman as the only scholarship quarterback on the roster without eligibility questions; the 'Noles have not learned whether Jordan Travis can play immediately after transferring from Louisville.

Hornibrook solves that problem. The 6-foot-4 lefty started 32 games for the Badgers (including nine last year), and Wisconsin won 26 of them. Notably for FSU fans, he was 23-of-34 for a career-high 258 yards and four touchdowns as the Orange Bowl MVP during Wisconsin's win over Miami at the end of the 2017 season.

He completed 59.5 percent of his passes last season with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
