FSU fan booted from Jimbo Fisher radio show after questioning coach's loyalty

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. _ A Florida State football fan was kicked out of Jimbo Fisher's radio show audience on Wednesday night after questioning the coach's loyalty to the Seminoles.

Fisher has declined to comment on rumors he has been offered the vacant Texas A&M job this week.

The fan began his question by sharing his excitement for having Fisher join FSU first as an offensive coordinator in 2007 before he became head coach in 2010.

"It's been kinda a tough season," the fan said. "And I remember watching a lot of your press conferences, and I remembered how you would talk about being committed to the program and cheering for the team ... and talking about loyalty to the program.

"So I'm wondering, where is the loyalty to the program, Jimbo?"

Fisher was lightheartedly smiling while the fan was asking the question, but quickly turned somber after the fan finished his statement, had a microphone snatched from his hands and turned to walk away from the questioning area.

As the fan was promptly being escorted, Fisher had a short response.

"That's all right," Fisher said

Fisher's radio call-in show is held weekly from the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Tallahassee, with the coach fielding a mix of comments by phone and from audience members.

Fisher is seeking greater financial support for his assistant coaches and quicker upgrades to FSU football facilities, while school leaders believe they have created a positive climate in which Fisher can win another national title, sources told the Orlando Sentinel this week.

Florida State finishes its tumultuous season against Louisiana Monroe in Doak Campbell Stadium at noon Saturday, hoping to clinch the program's 36th consecutive bowl game, amid the Texas A&M coaching rumors.
