FSG told to make Liverpool transfer change after 'angry' Jarrod Bowen admission

Gabriel Agbonlahor has warned Liverpool they are in 'danger' unless the club changes its transfer approach this summer.

The Reds have made one signing so far in the transfer window, recruiting RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.

Securing the long-term futures of key personnel has been a priority in recent weeks, having tied down Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho to new deals.

But former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor has insisted that Liverpool are "standing still" and will be left behind by the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea unless Jurgen Klopp is able to bolster his squad.

"There’s a big danger for Liverpool,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

"Man United have brought in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane. Man City are talking about Jack Grealish and Harry Kane. Chelsea are talking about Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland.

“You’re not hearing anything from Liverpool. They’re standing still. That’s very dangerous because they’ve got an ageing front line who need a bit of help and fresh legs to add competition," added Agbonlahor.

"If I was a Liverpool fan and all they are being linked with is Jarrod Bowen, I’d be very angry. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good player but he’s someone you have on the bench if you can get him cheap."

Agbonlahor also argued that the Reds' squad depth is "not good enough" and is convinced that Klopp's men will not come close to the title with the likes of Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri as back-up options.
