Liverpool could repeat transfer trick
There are going to be plenty of transfer rumours flying around over the next few weeks and months or so.
One such piece of gossip is linking Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge with a move to Anfield this summer.
According to Eurosport, Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield options this summer, and have identified Berge as a possible option.
Given that Gini Wijnaldum is becoming more and more likely to depart on a free transfer this summer, you would not think it out of the question that a new midfielder is on Jurgen Klopp’s transfer shopping list this summer.
It wouldn’t be the first time that Liverpool signed a player from a team recently relegated from the Premier League. It was the same with Xherdan Shaqiri at Stoke City, Andy Robertson at Hull and Wijnaldum at Newcastle.
There is nothing concrete to suggest that the Berge rumours are anything more than that at this stage, but based on past examples it’s clear that it’s a tactic that’s worked wonders previously.

John W. Henry quote reiterates point
You would think that the popularity of FSG would have soared to an all-time high after the recent triumphs at Anfield.
A Champions League win coupled with a long-awaited Premier League title 12 months later put Liverpool back on top after spending so long craving what some of their rivals had for so long.
But despite the success they have never been universally lauded, their approach to running Liverpool as a profitable business that ultimately increases their own wealth while sometimes being seen to not spend what is required to keep pace at the summit consistently hasn't always sat well with some fans.
And with the struggles of this season, one where injury to key players, a loss of form and confidence among the squad and a battle to find the magic formula so often displayed in the 18 months prior has meant that the club look set to miss out on Champions League football next season - at least through qualification via the Premier League - the questions over the direction of the club under FSG have grown louder.
Words spoken by FSG chief John Henry three years ago still ring as true as they did back then.
"We really don’t need to be popular. We need to win,” he said while on a conference call with journalists at spring training for the Boston Red Box.
FSG are fully aware that they have to deliver on their word to bring success to both of their assets, and the intense scrutiny that has been fired their way this season will only make that all the more essential in the months to come.

Divock Origi on the way out?
It has been on the cards for a while that Divock Origi's long-term future may not be at Anfield.
He's been rarely used by Klopp this season, certainly in the Premier League, and it seems only like a matter of time before his time on Merseyside comes to an end.
As claimed by El Gol Digital, Real Socieded are looking to replace Alexander Isak, and appear to have identified Origi as that replacement.
The report goes on to state that Liverpool would demand a fee in the region of €15m, with Aston Villa, Newcastle and Wolves also expressing an interest.
Were Origi's time at Liverpool to come to an end this summer, he would leave after spending seven years contracted with the club and plenty of fond memories that most players could only dream of achieving.
