FSAI recalls food supplements due to dangerous levels of THC

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall notice on a selection of food supplements in Ireland that have unauthorised levels of THC in them.

In a statement that was released, the FSAI said that they found “unsafe Levels of delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) were detected in certain batches of CBD."

The products have now been immediately recalled.

The affected products are:

Retailers have been instructed to remove the products from sale and consumers are being told not to purchase or consume any of the implicated batches of the unauthorised novel CBD food supplements listed in the above table.

An FSAI spokesperson said: "Distributors are requested to withdraw the product from the market. Retailers are requested to remove the products from sale. Food businesses that have sold the implicated batches of unauthorised novel CBD food supplements to consumers must display a point-of-sale notice in-store and on websites, if sold online, to inform consumers that the implicated batches of these unauthorised novel CBD food supplements are being recalled and the reason why."
