Syrian government helicopters have dropped barrel bombs on Deraa city, extending an assault in southwest Syria that has driven thousands from their homes. Along with the barrels crammed with explosives, the helicopters have dropped leaflets urging people to leave before the upcoming government offensive. It is one of the last two areas still held by rebels, who have promised to keep fighting.
