Jordan Pickford 'frustrating and inconsistent' for Everton but has proven himself important

Adam Jones - 6/10

Admittedly, this hasn't been the best campaign for Jordan Pickford. But he's certainly not alone in the Everton squad in that sense.

A lack of consistency has hampered the goalkeeper throughout the majority of the term with high profile mistakes dominating a lot of the talk about him - which is the territory that always comes with being England number one.

Mixed in with that, however, have been good saves and strong performances in certain moments.

It's been frustrating, but he's clearly a good goalkeeper and this season hasn't been as bad as some might suggest.

Sam Carroll - 6 /10

I think it has been a frustrating season for Jordan Pickford so far.

Yes, he has made errors, but most goalkeepers this season have. The problem is his are always going to be highlighted because of his struggles last season and the fact he is England's number one.

He just needs to keep his head down. He kept a lot of clean sheets last season and has made some important saves this time around but some of the goals conceded cannot be excused.

Basically, he hasn't yet kicked-on the way I expected he would after his superb first campaign and World Cup heroics in 2018/

But there's still time. And Pickford at his best, learning from his challenges, can still be the number one for club and country for the rest of his career.

He is that good.

Connor Dunn - 7/10

It has been a season full of ups and downs for Everton's goalkeeper so far this term.

Pickford entered the campaign with a weight of expectation on his shoulders and without doubt the shot-stopper has made the difference in securing a number of important points for the Blues.

A few high-profile mistakes, however, have marred his campaign but it has been a solid enough season up to now.

He certainly has the potential to push some of the world's elite goalkeepers and, at 26, has his best years ahead of him.

With all that taken into account, he rises from a six to a seven as a very important player for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
