A woman said she has been forced to flee her home after an infestation of thousands of fruit flies.
Chloe McBride, 21, claims the insects 'are everywhere' and that she has been unable to discover why they keep coming into the flat.
The Daily Record reports that she has been left traumatised by their growing infestation and that she has now moved back in with her mum.

She told the Daily Record: "It is honestly the worst situation I have ever been through. I've not even been able to cook a meal in the house.
'It started in the kitchen then as the week past they just multiplied in numbers. They were everywhere - all over my straighteners and makeup. That was my breaking point, I couldn't do it anymore. I went and bought a blow up mattress and moved into my mums living room.
"The letting agency want me to sort everything for myself. I am paying £450 a month for a house that is not even worth that and they can't even help me get rid of the flies.
"It is a proper infestation. It is not going to go away unless it is properly treated with someone coming in and using the proper treatment."
The alleged lack of help has had a negative effect on Chloe's mental health, something she already struggles with.
Her mum Alexis added: "We couldn't get the landlord but got onto Infiniti Properties and they said it was coming from the bins. The bins all got emptied and now there are thousands of them.
"My daughter can't live in this. They are all over her clothes and her work clothes.
"I think they need to move all of the furniture out of the house and get the whole house fumigated.
"Chloe came in the house for two minutes the other day and ran out into the landing screaming. She can't even eat in the house - she needs to eat outside.
"She has only just turned 21 and I don't keep too well but have to bring her home till this gets sorted. There are thousands of them and they are all over the furniture.
"It is disgusting and its giving me the boak. I was there the other day and I was physically sick because of it."
Even after using home remedies, the flies are still overtaking the property.
Each female fruit fly can lay up to 500 eggs and hatched larvae become adult flies in four days.
Both Alexis and Chloe claimed the letting agency refused to step in and treat the problem however Infiniti Properties told the Record they would be following advised action from pest control after a follow up on Tuesday.
They said: "Please be assured that a pest control company had been instructed and attended on 16/9/2021 and noted there was no obvious reason for the presence of the fruit flies.
"The tenant was advised on what she could to do to alleviate the problem, which included advice on ensuring that all sticky food residues were wiped away promptly.
"The situation is being closely monitored and any course of treatment recommended by the pest control company will be actioned."
