Disney animated musical Frozen was the most talked-about movie on Facebook in 2014, the social media site has revealed.
The song-packed tale of princesses Anna and Elsa, the latter the troubled recipient of terrifying cryokinetic powers, made the top spot despite being released at the tale end of 2013. It beat Marvel comic book space opera Guardians of the Galaxy and reptilian reboot Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into second and third place respectively.
The fourth most-mentioned movie of 2014 on Facebook was Angelina Jolie fantasy vehicle Maleficent, with animated smash The Lego Movie rounding out the top five.
Facebook did not release data on the number of likes or comments received by each movie. The Fault in Our Stars, Gone Girl and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - part one also made the top 10.
Meanwhile, Apple has revealed that Frozen is now its most popular download ever on iTunes. The Official Charts Company also announced last week that the film is on course to become the highest selling DVD of the decade in Britain after passing the 3m mark for sales in 2014.
