Frosty-faced Rocky, 12, looking for home after being found roaming the streets

A wise old terrier found on the streets as a stray is hoping to find himself cosied up in front of the fire in time for Christmas. Rocky is a sprightly, fun loving, older Patterdale who was taken in by Manchester Dogs Home while he awaits a new family.

Despite being classed as a senior dog, at 12 years old Rocky shows no signs of slowing down and loves to show off his knowledge of commands such as ‘sit’ and will often be found with a toy hanging out of his mouth.

As much as he loves to play, like many seniors, Rocky likes his slippers on and to be in bed before 9pm, and will make himself comfortable for the night amongst a pile of blankets.

A spokesperson for Manchester Dogs Home said: “After spending some time in our reception and being showered with love and affection from the staff, it’s clear to see Rocky is at his happiest when he’s joined by human company and being made the centre of attention.

“He is looking for a devoted family that can provide him with endless amounts of cuddles. He would like a pleasant stroll each day followed by a relaxing evening somewhere warm and cosy.”

Whilst out on his daily walks, Rocky has met a number of our other dogs. Although he chooses to interact with some, he can be rather selective and much prefers his own space therefore he is best suited to a household with no other dogs.

He’s also unable to live with cats or other small pets, and any children he lives with should be over the age of 10.

Rocky has received veterinary treatment for some medical issues whilst in rescue and may require further treatment in the future, and potential adopters can learn more about his care upon successful application.

If you’d like to adopt this frosty faced fella, you can find out more on the Manchester Dogs Home website.
