Frost boys cycle in memory of brother

Fundraiser: Wilf and George Frost will ride in aid of a heart charity

Two sons of late broadcaster Sir David Frost are taking part in a 100-mile charity cycle in memory of their brother who died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition.

George Frost, 32, and his brother Wilf, 33, will cycle the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 this Sunday to raise funds for the charity set up by their family in his name. Miles Frost died in 2015, aged 31, while out on a run.

He had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which can cause thickening of the heart wall and lead to cardiac arrest. The inherited condition often goes undiagnosed.

George and Wilf set up the Miles Frost Fund in partnership with the British Heart Foundation, this year’s charity partner for the event.

The fund has raised over £1.5 million to date which has gone towards 13 specialist clinics across the UK. The BHF estimates up to 120,000 people in the UK could unknowingly have the condition.

Describing the challenge as “cathartic”, George said: “We wanted not to focus on the negative but to do something positive and make a difference in Miles’s memory.”

They will be joined by George’s godfather, former England goalkeeper David Seaman.

Thousands will take part in the UK’s biggest cycling event this weekend.
