Pedestrian critical following Co Antrim crash

A pensioner is in a critical condition in hospital following a one-vehicle crash in Ballymoney.

The man in his 80s collided with a car on Frosses Road this morning.

Police said the road has been reopened following the crash.

Inspector David Anderson said: "At around 8.00am, it was reported that a car collided with a male pedestrian. The man, who is in his 80s has been taken to hospital.  His condition is described as critical.



"Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who was on the Frosses Road, Ballymoney at the time of the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage available to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 296 08/11/19."

A PSNI spokesperson said earlier: "The Frosses Road, Ballymoney, has been closed in both directions following a road traffic collision, this morning Friday 8th November.

"Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.

Traffic Watch NI said the road reopened at 4.10pm.
