Front Street in Arnold is expected to be closed until Friday (February 12) afternoon due to emergency roadworks.
Nottingham City Transport (NCT) said some of its services are diverting due to the closure.
Highways officials confirmed the road is closed between its junctions with Croft Road and Cross Street, Arnold.
The closure was put in place at 6pm on Wednesday, February 10 and is expected to remain until 4pm on Friday.
Via, the Highways company which carries out work for Nottinghamshire County Council, said the closure was in place due to "emergency repair work to the small main collar in the carriageway"
A spokesman for NCT said: "Arnold Front Street has been closed for emergency roadworks."
Its Lilac 25, Grey 53, 54, Lime 56, 58, Turquoise 79/A and Purple 87 services are affected.
