Front of bus wrecked in crash in Penarth

The front of a bus has been smashed to pieces following a crash in Penarth.

South Wales Police shared images of the incident on Twitter saying a single vehicle had been involved in an incident on Lavernock Road on Friday morning (July 16).

Pictures show the front window of the bus completely smashed and falling from the vehicle. An additional image shows glass all over the road, and a fallen fence.

Police have confirmed nobody was injured during the incident.

According to traffic monitors the road remained partially blocked at around 9am, and there was heavy traffic in the area due to debris on the road. It said a bus had been involved in the incident near Brockhill Rise, and traffic between Llandough and Barry could be affected.

South Wales Police Roads and Policing Unit said: "Single vehicle RTC, Lavernock Road, Penarth. Luckily no injuries."
