Front door set on fire in terrifying West Lothian blaze as cops launch probe

The front door of a property was set on fire in a terrifying blaze in West Lothian at the weekend.

Police have launched a probe after a pair of incidents in Whitburn on Friday, February 26.

Between 7pm and 1am the front door of a house in Glebe Road, Whitburn, was set alight causing minor damage.

And on the same night a garden shed was set on fire at around 8.30pm, destroying the shed and contents, on Loch Trool Way in the town.

Nobody was injured during these incidents but residents have been left shaken.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Any person who has information or witnessed any suspicious persons in the area at these times can call Police Scotland via 101 quoting Ref No 3622 of 26 February (Loch Trool Way) or 2618 of 27 February (Glebe Road)."

The appeal from cops follows news that fire crews raced to a blaze at a four-in-a-block property in Whitburn this morning.

The fire took hold at Gareloch Way in Whitburn at around 6.20am .

Four appliances attended to bring the blaze under control and one person was taken to hospital as a precaution.
