Fromer Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar takes on Navjot Sidhu, Captain Amarinder

BATHINDA: Former Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar again criticised his successor as PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and also took a dig at former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Jakhar in two different tweets on Thursday highlighted that all is not well in the party in the border state.

After Sidhu criticised the appointments of director-general of police and advocate general by new chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Jakhar criticised him: "Enough is enough. Put an end to attempts to undermine the authority of CM time and again. Aspersions being cast on selection of AG & DGP is actually questioning the integrity/competence of CM and Home Minister to deliver results. It’s time to put the foot down and clear the air".

He had tweeted on Tuesday after Sidhu’s resignation from the PPCC post: "It’s just not cricket! What stands compromised in this entire 'episode' is the faith reposed in the (outgoing?) PCC President by the Congress Leadership. No amount of grand standing can justify this breach of trust placing his benefactors in a peculiar predicament."

In his second tweet of the day, Jakhar took a dig at Captain Amarinder by posting a famous couplet, "Kuch to majboorian rahi hongi, yun to koi bewafa nahi hota (There must have been some compulsions, nobody betrays without a reason)" along with an old photograph of Amarinder with Union home minister Amit Shah.

Incidentally, Captain had praised Jakhar for doing a good job as he was commenting on the interference of Sidhu in the Channi government.
