Umana Bali leads the way when it comes to kids’ clubs that are as enriching as they are enjoyable. Along with kite-making, bracelet-crafting and sporting facilities, younger guests (12 and under) can participate in Balinese dance lessons, puppet-making and traditional games such as congklak. Many families see SAii Lagoon Maldives as their happy place – and it’s not just because there’s a gelato bar serving homemade ice-cream from morning to night. As well as catering for thrill-seekers with windsurfing, paddleboarding and kayaking, this resort aims to connect children with the Maldivian environment on a deeper level by teaching them about conservation and sustainability through play.

This Mediterranean aesthetic seeps across the resort, from the colourful soft play area that feels like an Italian piazza to the junior pottery workshops where youngsters can create their own masterpieces.
