Catherine’s Honest Skincare Journey
Oh, I am a food lover , I love to eat all junk but never filled my tummy with enough water , I hate drinking water , not knowing water has got so much of benefits for skin and the entire body ,
After gaining some weight and looking myself in the mirror or some of images in phone i flet i am looking very old at the age of 35 and realised to care my skin than my weight .
I took the help of kitchen ingredients , home remedies and then after following this with a greed to get best result I thought to do some experiments with chemical treatments too on a belief to achieve healthy, glowing skin
So I rushed to all beauty apps and placed loads of order for skincare like moisturizers, serum, sunscreen, facial kits, foundations and after burning some money with salon visits i felt there was not so much of results as my skin kept going back to its original state in 4 or 5 days. But deep down, I was frustrated. My skin constantly felt tired, dull in the mornings, oily by evening, and dry in patches. I’d break out before every important event and feel helpless.
I remembered my sissy who as a dermatologist has a very clear, glowing , fair healthy skin, out of curiosity i visited her clinic just to check my skin and products,
To my horror she told me to stop buying products and suggested ““If you’re not drinking enough water, no skincare product will fully work.”. She insisted that I drink enough water and take veggies, fruits and do basic skin care . I still wondered what water could do to skin ?
Upon referring so much of videos, blogs and books I clearly understood the need for water for my skin , I hardly took only 800ml per day and which I felt was too low, so I started taking enough water that touched 1.5 litres per day, then with consistency gradually increased to 3 litres per day. I kept a bottle near me at all times, added lemon or mint leaves for flavour, and reminded myself to sip throughout the day.
And the result was so shocking I got good skin , thereby I concentrated on a good intake of fruits and vegetables and slowly noticed decreased weight , so more than external internal intake worked well on my skin. People started saying I looked “fresh” even without makeup.
That’s when I realised: sometimes, glowing skin doesn’t start with skincare. It starts with water.No, water didn’t erase all my skin issues, but it gave my skin the balance and support it had been missing all along.
