Discounts are coming in hot at fast food spots across the U.S. Thursday, in honor of National Hamburger Day.
National Hamburger Month is celebrated every May to kick off summer and celebrate the season of grilling up burgers and hot dogs. During these 31 days, some burger joints offer a line-up of limited-time offerings.
However, most deals are up for grabs on or right before National Hamburger Day, which will be celebrated Thursday, May 28.
From $5 burgers at Sonic and Smashburger to a customer giveaway at Whataburger — with a chance to win free food for a year — there are many ways to take part in the festivities.
Here are all the best deals to snag on National Hamburger Day.
Burger King
On Thursday, Burger King is celebrating National Hamburger Day by offering Royal Perks program members a free hamburger with any purchase of $3 or more at participating locations nationwide.
As part of the promotion, Burger King is also giving Royal Perks members four months of Spotify Premium for free when they make a purchase of $10 or greater.
Shake Shack
From May 25 through May 31, Shake Shack customers can get a free Shack Burger with a minimum purchase of $10. Shoppers can redeem the deal by using the code FREEBURGER when they order on the Shake Shack app or at an in-restaurant kiosk.
In addition, customers have until June 1 to enter the Shake Shack Burger Month Sweepstakes, where a few guests will win free burgers for an entire year.
Dairy Queen
Dairy Queen is offering $1 off any Signature Stackburger until May 31. The deal is only available to new and existing DQ Rewards members and can be redeemed on the DQ Mobile App.
Checkers
On Thursday, Checkers will have a Buy One, Get One Free deal for its Classic Burger at participating locations.
Sonic
Sonic Rewards Members can get a free SONIC Smasher or All-American Smasher when making a purchase of $5 or more until May 31. All orders have to be placed through Sonic’s app.
Whataburger
When Whataburger customers order a medium fry and a medium drink May 28, they will get the chain’s signature, namesake burger for free. Customers have to order online or scan their Whataburger app in stores to redeem the deal.
Rewards members who order from Whataburger on National Burger Day can also enter the brand’s giveaway of up to a year’s worth of food.
Smashburger
On Thursday, Smashburger will offer a single burger for for $5.28 when customers use the code 528SINGLE at checkout on the brand’s website or mobile app.
