From masks to in-flight meals, the Ryanair changes you'll notice next time you fly thanks to Covid

Your experience of flying on Ryanair will have changed due to Covid-19, compared to pre-Covid times.

So what things have the budget airline altered to make your experience as safe as possible?

Ahead of holidays (hopefully) getting the green light later in the summer, we've taken a look at the changes you'll notice next time you fly with Ryanair.

Before you fly

Firstly, it's up to the passenger to make sure that you've filled out what's required by your country of destination.

Masks are mandatory both in the airport and when you board the flight and for the duration. If you're flying to Austria or Germany, then you are required to wear an FFP2 mask at the airport and on the aircraft.

Check in online and download your boarding pass, choose priority and two cabin bags so you can keep all your luggage on you. Take your temperature before you get to the airport as it may be taken on arrival at Dublin Airport, and if your temperature is too high, you'll be asked to return home.

At the airport

If you decide to check in a bag, use the automated kiosks and leave your bag at the drop-off desk. Use fast track to limit the amount of time you spend in a queue.

There are also numerous hand sanitiser stations throughout the airport for you to use. Keep your distance from other passengers.

Boarding a flight

Do not queue at the boarding gates. Priority passengers will be boarded first. Because of this, there should be no queues on any of the air bridges or stairs.

Keep your passport open to limit contact with the flight crew. They will also be wearing masks at all times.

On the aircraft

All planes will have been cleaned and disinfected daily as it's effective for 24 hours. Ryanair says its planes are fitted with a state-of-the-art filtration system that is of the same standard as those found in hospital settings.

However, you are not allowed to queue for the toilet.

The food on offer on flights will be limited to pre-wrapped snacks and drinks, and all sales will be cashless.

Arrival

Keep your face mask on until you have left the terminal. Maintain social distancing as best you can at the baggage carousel.
