Dunelm was founded by the Adderley family in 1979 as a Leicester market stall business selling ready-made curtains.
It has been making made to measure curtains and blinds in Leicestershire for more than 20 years.
This year Dunelm is celebrating its 40th birthday.
Since opening the first Dunelm store in Leicester in 1984, the company has expanded across the country making it the UK’s largest homewares retailer with more than 170 stores more than 9,000 staff nationwide.
It now turns over more than £1 billion a year and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
It is the seventh biggest Leicestershire-based compay.
