Gaga's 'meat dress' kicked off a vintage decade of red carpet moments - some fabulous, some controversial - as the celebrity step-and-repeat continued to balloon from a quick photo opportunity to an event in its own right.
The decade saw major Hollywood stylists work with stars to create fashion moments, like the sparkling turquoise Prada dress Lupita Nyong'o wore to the 2014 Oscars.

In 2015, Amy Schumer jokingly threw herself in front of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at the Time 100 issue of the Most Influential People at The World event in New York, while Sacha Baron Cohen attended the 2012 Oscars as his character General Aladeen, even sprinkling a pot of ashes in front of the cameras.
The decade has seen the red carpet get political too. In 2018, Kristen Stewart staged a protest against a 'no flat shoes' rule imposed on women at the Cannes Film Festival by walking the red carpet and removing her Louboutin heels, while awards season in 2018 will be remembered as the year women in Hollywood said 'Time's Up', dressing in black and bringing activists including #MeToo originator Tarana Burke as plus ones.
