From hostels to castles: Where to stay near Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland

In a huge year for tourism in Northumberland, the 1900 Festival is taking place this year to celebrate 19 centuries of Hadrian's Wall.

Events are going ahead throughout 2022 along the 73-mile length of the wall, culminating in the Festival of Saturnalia in December where towns up and down the length of the wall will be hosting their own celebrations.

And accommodation businesses along the wall are expecting a bumper year, with bookings already increasing for the months ahead. With a variety of places to stay across Northumberland, ranging from campsites and hostels to luxury hotels, visitors are spoiled for choice. Here are some ideas of where you can stay.
