From Hollywood set to Aussie streets

A Chevrolet made famous by 2009 Hollywood film The Fast and Furious 4 will go to auction in Sydney. (AAP)

A brutish Hollywood co-star is up for grabs in Australia this weekend.

The gun-metal grey Chevelle SS coupe driven by Vin Diesel in the 2009 blockbuster, The Fast and Furious 4, is scheduled for auction in Sydney on Saturday.

"We expect this car to reach six figures ... but what the final figure will be is anyone's guess as it will be a car to treasure and will go down in history," Lloyds Auctions spokesman Lee Hames said.

Boasting a V8 engine and drift brakes, the 1970-built car remains in the same condition as when it appeared on set and comes with a Universal Studio of Title. It was imported to Australia from the US in 2012.

The Chevelle SS is a close relative of Australia's HQ Holden Monaro.
