From Disney's Moon Knight to Netflix's Heartstopper - ten shows to stream tonight

With so many television shows vying for our attention, it’s harder than ever to know which are actually worth your time.

Day after day we’re bombarded with so-called ‘must-see’ programmes, making it all too easy to feel like you’re missing out.

Handily, streaming hub Reelgood.com has whittled down a load of quality shows its monthly users are most raving about.

From it, we’ve compiled a snappier - but no less sweet - list of ten of the very best series currently streaming on Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and all the other major services.

So grab a cup of tea and let us help you decide what to watch tonight:

Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight in Marvel Studios' Moon Knight, on Disney+ (©Marvel Studios 2022)

Moon Knight (Disney+)

Based on the mysterious Marvel Comics character, Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac – best known as Poe Dameron in Star Wars – as the titular hero.

Plagued by blackouts and what seem to be hallucination of another life, the mild-mannered gift shop worker Steven Grant discovers he has a dissociative identity disorder, sharing a body with mercenary Marc Spector. It isn’t long before dark forces begin to gather and the pair must steer their way through an engaging deadly mystery involving the forces of powerful Egyptian gods.

The series has positive reviews, with particular praise for Isaac's and Hawke's performances and the darker tone compared to previous MCU series. It has an IMDb rating of 7.5.

The Netflix drama hit the streaming platform in April (Netflix)

Heartstopper (Netflix)

Many have taken this fiercely modern drama, rather aptly, to their hearts. The show stars Charlie, a highly-sensitive and neurotic gay over-thinker, and Charlie, a kind Rugby player, who meet at an all-boys grammar school. They quickly become friends - but could it lead to something more? This very popular show is based on Alice Oseman’s hugely-successful graphic novel. Goggleboxers love this series, and chances are you will, too. With its realistic dialogue and tenderly emotional scenes, it’s no wonder this show is stopping viewers in its tracks. It has an IMDb rating of 8.9.

Better Call Saul on Netflix (Netflix)

Better Call Saul (Netflix)

Back with a new episode on Tuesday, May, 17, this immensely popular series first aired in 2015. Set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White in global mega-hit Breaking Bad, this prequel has proved to be every bit as enjoyable.

In it we follow small-time Chicago conman Jimmy McGill’s transformation into Saul Goodman - the man who certainly puts the ‘criminal’ in ‘criminal lawyer’.

Highly revered for its masterful storytelling and gripping storyline, comedy drama Better Call Saul is currently streaming on Netflix and is available to buy on iTunes and Prime Video. It has an IMDb rating of 8.8.

The Staircase on Netflix (Netflix)

The Staircase (Netflix)

This gripping courtroom thriller that offers a rare and telling look inside a high-profile murder trial will definitely have you on the edge of your sofa. Directed by Academy Award-winning Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, The Staircase leads us down a murky path in 2001, where author Michael Peterson was accused of murdering wife Kathleen.

Her body was found lying in a pool of blood on the stairway of their home.

With unprecedented access to Peterson’s lawyers and immediate family, de Lestrade's cameras really do offer a uniquely candid and engrossing look into proceedings. With more twists than a Chubby Checker convention, The Staircase will definitely keep you guessing. It has an IMDb rating of 7.9.

Yellowstone on Amazon Prime (Amazon Prime/Paramount)

Yellowstone (Amazon Prime)

Kevin Costner stars as Montana rancher John Dutton, head of a family who control the largest contiguous ranch in America. Constantly threatened by land developers, an Indian reservation and the US’s first national park, the Dutton family have a heck of task on their hands to defend themselves. Whether it’s old-school frontier-justice thrills or the sweepingly gorgeous vistas of Montana, there’s a lot to like about Yellowstone. Densely packed with characters and plot, it’s hard not to get swept away by it all. It has an IMDb rating of 8.7.

The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix (Netflix)

The Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix)

Laid low after an accident, morally ambiguous hotshot LA Lawyer Mickey Haller is pulled back into the legal biz over what purports to be a professional murder. Mickey foregoes the office life and takes to working out of his Lincoln town car, which gives viewers a handy change of scenery instead of the usual interior shots synonymous with such dramas. While inevitably a bit silly, this refreshing crime and drama series has proved incredibly popular with the streaming masses. It has an IMDb rating of 7.5

Ozark on Netflix (Netflix)

Ozark (Netflix)

This high-end drama with a top-rank cast sees a financial adviser drag his family from Chicago all the way to the titular Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder $500 million in five years to appease a drug boss. Kind of like a mixed-up and darker Brewster’s Millions, if you will. Ozark has a well-developed plot and characters motivated by realistic desires, lending the series an air of realism often lacking in today’s dramas. A slow-burner which gives the audience time to relax and sink into its murky world without ever feeling overwhelmed. It has an IMDb rating of 8.5.

Severance on Apple TV+ (Apple Tv+)

Severance (Apple TV+)

This bonkers workplace thriller sees central character Mark Scout leading a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. The procedure – called Severance – splits the workers’ brains in two, allowing them to effectively skip work eight hours a day to focus on their daily life. Or vice versa (rather less appealing!). The show gets even more intriguing when a mysterious colleague appears outside of work, kick-starting a journey to discover the truth about their jobs. A madcap premise, Severance is certainly very different. It has an IMDb audience rating of 8.7.

The Flight Attendant on Now TV (Now TV)

The Flight Attendant (NowTV)

This slick, stylish black comedy sees hungover flight attendant Cassandra Bowden waking up in her Dubai hotel room with a dead body lying next to her.

Terrified to call the police (yes, bad idea!) she incredibly opts to continue her morning as if nothing happened. But later in New York, she is quizzed by FBI agents who want to know about her recent layover in Bangkok. Still struggling to piece together what happened in Dubai, she begins to wonder if she could be the killer. The critically-acclaimed Flight Attendant has a new episode airing on May 19. It has an IMDb rating of 7.1.

Slow Horses on Apple TV+ (AppleTV+)

Slow Horses (Apple TV+)

This tense spy thriller follows a dysfunctional squad of MI5 agents—and their unpleasant boss, the notorious Jackson Lamb—as they navigate the espionage world’s smoke and mirrors to defend England from dark forces. Starring the ever-dependable Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden, the duo make for a fizzy double act. Their grumpy demeanour provoking a few laughs along the way in this gritty espionage tale you won’t want to miss. It has an IMDb rating of 7.8
