BARNALA: Taking a dig at chief minister Bhagwant Mann over his announcement of making Sangrur a model district, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has asked him what happened to his Delhi Model, which Aam Aadmi Party had been shouting about so loudly before elections.
"Such populist sloganeering has already outlived its utility as you can’t fool all the people all the time", Warring said on Sunday while referring to Bhagwant Mann's announcement. "What about the rest of Punjab, doesn’t this mean discrimination with other districts, if at all you are serious and sincere about what you say?" he asked.
He said, since AAP had realized that people had seen their fake designs, now it was desperately trying new things.
The PCC president said this was yet another fake promise of the AAP leaders like they had made before the Vidhan Sabha elections. "They would shout about the Delhi Model, which nobody knew what it was all about and now having forgotten the Delhi Model, they have come out with the new slogan of 'Sangrur Model', which they will conveniently forget after the elections", he remarked.
Warring said, the first three months of the Mann government were a complete disaster and the situation was going from bad to worse. “We had communal clashes in Patiala, we had terror attack on intelligence headquarters in Mohali and we had brutal assassination of an internationally reputed singer, Sidhu Moosewala", he said, while listing the failures of the AAP government.
He also referred to the reports about people getting ransom calls and threats from criminals and gangsters.
