From micro-apartments in car parks to cinemas in petrol stations, a number of empty urban spaces and structures that were once dedicated to the domination of the car are now being creatively reused. Whether you think these projects are brilliant or problematic, they signal a potential decline in our need for car-oriented urban design.

What leftover spaces of car infrastructure have you seen transformed in your city? Perhaps you've spotted a vacant garage, car park or petrol station that you have an idea for? Share your pictures, ideas and stories on GuardianWitness and we'll feature the best on Guardian Cities. Just click on the blue 'Contribute' button, or if you're out and about you can download the free GuardianWitness app for smartphones.
