From Cameron Carter-Vickers to Kazaiah Sterling - How Spurs' loan stars performed at the weekend

There were mixed results for Tottenham Hotspur's nine young players out on loan at the weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino and his staff are keeping a close eye on all of them to decide which of them will still have a place in the north London club's plans and for which of them this coming summer could prove to be the time to move on from N17 permanently.

Every player at Spurs has six month reviews and their loan performances in the leagues across England, France, Spain and the Netherlands will be taken into account when the decision is made about the next step in their career.

What Liverpool did against Manchester City that Tottenham must replicate in Champions League

Here's how all of Spurs' loan players got on at the weekend and how they're doing so far at their various clubs.

Marcus Edwards

The 20-year-old had to be content with seven minutes off the bench for Dutch side Excelsior Rotterdam at the weekend.

The relegation-threatened side slipped to their sixth straight loss, going down 1-0 to Groningen on Saturday.

Edwards has been a regular started in recent months for the Rotterdam outfit, scoring twice and providing two assists as well.

Paul Gladon scored the only goal of the game for Groningen, and Edwards could do nothing in his brief cameo to change the outcome of the match.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou

The French winger remains sidelined for loan club Monaco.

The winger moved to Monaco on transfer deadline day in January but he has found opportunities in the team hard to come by.

Marcus Edwards and what his future holds at Tottenham when he returns

He struggled to tie down a first team place upon moving to the principality, and has since got injured, suffering a thigh problem, which has kept him out of action since mid February.

It is not clear when the Frenchman will be back in action.

Kazaiah Sterling

It has not been a great loan for Sterling at Sunderland so far.

Saturday's match against Rochdale was just his fourth for the Black Cats, but fresh from his first senior goal the week before against Accrington, Sterling would have been high on confidence.

He started the game on the bench, however.

The 20-year-old did come off the bench with 11 minutes to go as Sunderland scored a mionute from time to secure all three points.

Anthony Georgiou

Georgiou was once again in action for Levante B in the Spanish third division.

The Cypriot played 72 minutes of Levante's 1-1 draw with Conquense, having previously featured for Cyprus during the international break against San Marino and Belgium.

The 22-year-old, who scored his first senior goal on his first professional start against Hercules at the end of February, has helped his new side move away from the drop zone.

Josh Onomah

Onomah has suffered another setback in what has already been a season from hell.

After returning to first team training with Sheffield Wednesday, the midfielder has dislocated his elbow and may require surgery before getting back into the first team picture.

Onomah's last appearance came against Ipswich Town at the beginning of February.

He has only made eight starts this season, with four substitute appearances, and has bagged three assists.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Carter-Vickers has been a virtual ever-present for Swansea in the last few months.

The defender has been a mainstay of the Swans' backline and played the full 90 minutes as they beat Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Swansea are nine points adrift of the play-off places in the Championship, with an outside chance of making the top six come the end of the season.

He now has 17 Championship starts this season to his name, with six substitute appearances as well as three FA Cup appearances.

Samuel Shashoua

Shashoua returned from injury to play the full 90 minutes as Atletico Baleares drew 1-1 with Teruel to maintain their unbeaten run in 2019.

The Spurs youngster played well during the contest, creating a number of chances and having a couple of good shout for a penalty turned down by the referee.

The 19-year-old is playing in the same league as Anthony Georgiou, although Shashoua and Baleares are top of the league, four points clear.

Connor Ogilvie

Ogilvie is having a tough season in League One with Gilingham.

The Gills may be 13th in the table, but under closer inspection they are just five points clear of the drop zone.

The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes for the Gills at the weekend, but he could not stop them slipping to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Peterborough.

The defender has been a near ever-present for the League One side since November, appearing 32 times in all competitions.

Ogilvie's contract ends this summer and he's likely to move on, but he should be able to pick up a new club in the English game with little problem.

Shayon Harrison

Harrison has headed even further afield than his Spurs teammates this season after making the loan move to Melbourne City in Australia's A-League.

The 21-year-old striker has played seven A-League games, with his most recent outing one of his most productive.

Melbourne claimed a fine 4-1 victory over Brisbane Roar on Friday night, with Harrison scoring the second goal for his side.
