From birthday parties to first dates Echo readers share fond memories of Edge lane's Hollywood Bowl

The end of an era is close as Edge Lane's original Hollywood Bowl venue is set to shut down before it relocates to new premises at Liverpool Shopping Park.

It currently sits on the outskirts of the nearby shops and has remained in the same location since it opened decades ago.

For a building to have been in the city for so long, everyone is sure to have their own memories about days or nights inside and ECHO readers have been sharing theirs.

From children's birthday parties, a place for a first date and even as host to New Year's Eve parties - the Hollywood Bowl has acted as a backdrop to many memories.

Posting underneath a post on the ECHO's Facebook page , Dylan Birch said: "Had many a happy memory here!

"It was always my favourite one to go to over the other one in Switch Island. Yes it's old and slightly tired now but it is what it is.

"Be sad to see it go."

And it look like many agree with his sentiment.

Jeanette Benson said: "Loads of memories x"

Corey Rawlinson added: "Good memories, sad to see it move."

Who hasn't gone bowling as a child? Moaning about the specialist shoes and being delighted when you got a strike and Edge Lane's Hollywood Bowl.

Tasha Roberts said: "Childhood memories here" along with a sad face emoji.

Debbie Nestor said: "When we picked our Callum up after a party ... got all the way home and he still had his bowling shoes on."

Under the Facebook post, some users even tagged their partners sharing memories of their first dates and one user Bobi-Mae Hampson said: "NYE with my dad, my 6th birthday, my 5th birthday, my 4th birthday."

The Hollywood Bowl is due to close its original location in the coming months and move into a new premises so fans of the bowling alley need not be disappointed.
