From a personal standpoint, Vikings excited to see Teddy Bridgewater

Three years ago, Teddy Bridgewater suffered a gruesome non-contact injury to his knee.

The then 23-year-old Bridgewater suffered a dislocated knee, torn ACL, as well as other structural damage to his leg.

Many thought Bridgewater’s career was over for good, considering he almost lost his leg entirely.

Bridgewater has rehabbed, and battled, and three years later, he’s a backup for one of the best quarterbacks in the league and appears to be knocking on the door of being an NFL starter again.

The Vikings will get to see Bridgewater on Friday when they travel to play the Saints in New Orleans.

“Those of us who know that kid, you wouldn’t doubt anything that he does,” Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski said Tuesday, who was Bridgewater’s quarterbacks coach in Minnesota. “Really looking forward to seeing him. I think he has a bunch of fans in this building, so we will see him in pregame and say hello and then get to work.”

While the Vikings will be trying to sack Bridgewater like any other quarterback when the game starts, you can expect plenty of hugs and smiles pre and postgame.
