Friska's has opened a new branch in Queen Square

People were treated to free breakfast as Friska's latest café opened its doors.

Taking over Caffe Gusto on Queen Square, the fast-growing chain's newest branch will no doubt be hit with not only morning commuters in search of breakfast and quality coffee but with nearby workers on their lunch break too.

The Bristol-born company has become known for its delicious food and drink offering, most of which is healthy too, with a reasonably priced menu.

It opened its first café on Victoria Street a decade ago and since then has opened 10 sites across Bristol and Manchester, as well as one in Luton Airport.

At the new Queen Square café, which opened on June 10, customers can expect Friska's most popular options such as House Bacon and Mushroom toasties, healthy poached egg pots and a range of chilled breakfast items each morning.

Speaking when the new café was announced, Friska founder Griff Holland said Queen Square was the perfect place to launch their newest café.

He said: “When we saw this site was available, it was too good to miss.

"It’s an awesome spot on the corner with plenty of people living and working in the area looking for good, fresh food and great coffee served speedily by great people.

"We’re joining several other brilliant businesses in the area and we look forward to adding to the growing food and coffee offer around Queen Square and the harbourside.”

For lunch the team will be serving up Friska’s popular hotboxes, burritos and hot wraps as well as a sandwiches, salads and pho noodles.

The café has a total of 34 covers inside as well as outdoor seating and the option to takeaway, of course.

Friska Queen Square is open 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm on Saturday and 9am - 4pm on Sunday. It can be contacted on 01179 299476.
