'Frightening' BGT magic act 'exposed' as Amanda Holden is terrified by ghost

Amanda Holden was left utterly terrified by a magic act on Britain's Got Talent this evening - but some fans were left raising their eyebrows.

The 48-year-old was left screaming in terror after a magician transformed into a woman who died over 100 years ago in front of her eyes.

Mysterious performer Elizabeth left the judges feeling nervous right from the get-go by walking up to the judges table and handing Amanda a dusty, old journal before leading her to the side of the stage.

"I'm scared, I'm scared," confessed Amanda as she is taken down some stairs and into a dark room.

Alesha Dixon leaves BGT fans baffled as they spot something odd about her earring

The pair sat down at a table which was covered in old black and white photos.

Elizabeth explained that the people pictured lived and died over 100 years ago and asked Amanda to count them face down one at a time onto the table.

Amanda had to stop when she felt a connection to one of the photos and place it face down into a cigar box.

The photograph had the words "Agatha Turner 1860" written on the front, and remarkably she is described in a bookmarked page in the journal.

Freaked out Amanda then looked over her left shoulder and saw the name written on the wall.

As she turned back round Elizabeth has transformed into the ghost of Agatha Turner.

Horrified Amanda screamed in shock as the ghost grabbed her arm.

The rest of the judges and the audience, who were watching via a video link, also started screaming in terror.

Amanda started swearing as she cried: "Oh my god I want to go home."

Just as it seemed like the worst was over as Amanda left the dark room, the ghost then turned back into the magician.

Screaming Amanda put her head in her hands and admitted she thought she was going to start crying.

And while some viewers loved the performance, others were convinced it had been staged.

One tweeted: " this is so fake she knew where she was going."

While another remarked: "Nar that didn’t even fool me I was just like “omg how staged” it took the magic out for me ‍♀️ #BritainsGotTalent #BGT."

A third commented: "The only person that should go though for that magic act is the camara man! #bgt."

One remarked: "#BGT is looking more staged and rehearsed than being in the moment #BritainsGotTalent."

Another simply wrote: "Very staged #bgt."
