Frightened homeowner beaten and abducted by gang before he's ditched several miles from Kildare home

A frightened homeowner was allegedly beaten up and abducted by thugs who claimed that he "owed them money".

The vicious gang of three stormed the person's house last Monday at 4:55pm demanding cash.

It is alleged that the victim was savagely attacked by the group before they took him out of his home in Newbridge and bundled him into a car.

The person that came across the victim - who wished to remain anonymous - said: "I live a few miles outside Newbridge and on Monday night, we had a gentleman on our property badly beaten up and looking for help.

"He told me that the people came into his home saying he owed them money, took him out of his home in Newbridge and drove him away from his house.

"When he was eventually let out, he managed to escape from them and they drove off. We called the Gardai and they took him home."

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We attended an incident of burglary that occurred at a residential property Newbridge.

"Nothing was taken from the property and investigations are ongoing."
