Friends to celebrate the life of 'lovely' Rikki

The devastated family of a 'lovely lad' found dead on train tracks will be celebrating his life with an event.

British Transport Police were called to Huyton Train Station at around 10.29pm on Thursday, July 21 to reports of a body on the tracks. Paramedics also went to the scene to provide treatment but the man was pronounced dead.

The force confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious, the man's next of kin have been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner. The man was named locally as Rikki Warnick.

Now, family and friends of Rikki will pay tribute to him in a day-long event on Saturday, July 30, at The Bus Yard. The evening will include music from Billie Clements, Ian Longo, Kaci Lea Lynch and Jake Laird.

There will also be a balloon release at 8pm, with people either being able to bring their own, or collecting one on site. The event is ticketed with all money being raised going directly to Rikki's family.

Dj Billie Clements said: "Remembering Rikki. All ticket money and door money is going straight to his family. Will be playing his (Rikki's) fav song.

"Rikki would never miss a doo. Love you Rik - will do the best for you my friend xx"
