It has now been over a year since the cast of Friends confirmed the exciting news that they would be reuniting for a one-off anniversary show.
Despite months of setbacks as a result of the pandemic, the cast will finally come together for the much-anticipated show in just over a weeks time.
Dubbed 'The One Where They Get Back Together,' Friends: The Reunion is set to welcome back Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Joey Tribbiani (Matt Le Blanc), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), and Ross Geller (David Schwimmer).
However, the reunion will also feature several differences in comparison to the structure of the show that fans are so used to.
So what do we know about the upcoming reunion?

When is the Friends reunion going to air?
The reunion show is being produced by HBO and the organisation recently confirmed that the episode will finally premiere on HBO Max on May 27.
This comes after months of delay and uncertainty surrounding production as a result of safety concerns during the pandemic.
While US audiences will be able to catch up with the show in just over a week, it is yet to be revealed whether a UK channel will also snap up the program. Undoubtedly, snippets of the show will be made available online following the show.
However, it was recently reported that Sky could secure the rights because they share a close connection with WarnerMedia.

Who is starring in the Friends reunion?
The recent HBO trailer that was dropped ahead of the show featured the six main cast members walking toward the set.
By this point it is clear that all of the original six will be returning for the show, however, fans will also be excited to learn there is a huge group of celebrity guests that will make an appearance.
On May 13, HBO dropped a list of guests that include BTS, Justin Bieber, David Beckham and Lady Gaga. James Corden, Cara Delevingne and Kit Harington will also play a part in what has been described as "a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show".
Some Friends show veterans such as Larry Hankin, Tom Selleck and Elliott Gould are also expected to appear.

What to expect from the show?
HBO has long made clear that the Friends special will not be in the form of your usual episode. Instead, it will be a largely unscripted exclusive that will feature the actors as themselves instead of portraying their characters.
Having said this, a host of recognisable settings such as Central Perk and Monica and Rachel's apartment have been carefully restored on Stage 24 for the reunion show.
According to People, there will be several segments in the upcoming show including a table reading taken from one of the episodes to some memorable trivia games.
There has also been lots of speculation about who might be hosting the reunion show, however, producers are yet to confirm any names.

What have the actors said about the reunion?
It appears that the Friends special has already been recorded and the original cast has already shared their thoughts about the emotional experience.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Courteney Cox said: "It was unbelievable, so emotional. It's an unscripted reunion, but we got to be on Stage 24 for the first time, all of us, in I forgot how many years - fifteen years? Seventeen years?"
Lisa Kudrow also told American outlet Extra : "It's also really just so thrilling. We got to be together and [Matt] LeBlanc tells a story like no one else, he is so great."
