Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer 'getting close' after admitting 'real life chemistry'

Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer could finally be ready to become an item in real life - nearly 30 years after the show first aired, it has been reported.

The duo, who played Rachel Green and Ross Geller on the legendary US sitcom, admitted they had a real connection when the Friends cast reunited in May, reports the Mirror.

Although they enjoyed a real-life chemistry, they revealed they never actually hooked up away from the cameras - until now it appears.

It is understood Jennifer, 52, and David, 54, have grown close again following the reunion special of the show earlier this year and insiders claim the pair have been spending time together.

A source told Closer magazine: "After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there.

"They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA."

The pair, who played the popular on-screen lovers from 1994 until 2004, admitted to Friends' reunion host James Corden that the timing was never right to become closer off-screen - despite both having "crushed real hard" on one another during filming.

“I had a major crush on Jen,” David confessed during the HBO special in May.

Jennifer then replied: "It was reciprocated.”

David continued: "We were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing. One of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary."

In the Hollywood duo's case it seems like they're ready to give it a go nearly three decades after first meeting.

The source continued: "They’ve been spending time at Jen’s home, where she’s cooked dinners in the evenings, and have enjoyed quality time together, chatting and laughing.

"They were also spotted drinking wine, deep in conversation, as they walked around one of Jen’s favourite vineyards in Santa Barbara, where it was clear there was lots of chemistry between them.”
