Friends star Matt LeBlanc has brilliant response to 'Irish dad memes'

The Friends Reunion recently aired across the globe, with over 100 million people tuning in on the night of its release.

Irish viewers had a field day with Matt LeBlanc on Twitter when someone hilariously compared him to an Irish ‘da’ or uncle.

A screengrab of the American actor was taken during the show of him sitting with his arms folded looking like a typical Irish man - inciting a flood of memes.

Relating to the photo, one user wrote; "Matt LeBlanc at the reunion is your dad sitting in your gran’s house annoyed because he’s running late for golf."

Another wrote; "Matt LeBlanc looks like someone's granddad that's turned up to sports day with their own deckchair, thermos and bagged the best spot by the finish line."

A third said; "Matt LeBlanc sits like a bloke that is at his niece's birthday while the cup final is on."

The 53-year-old has yet to acknowledge the hilarious comparison in public, but his friend and fellow-actor Stephen Mangan reassures fans that he has seen them, and thinks they’re hilarious - although admits he doesn’t understand it.

Speaking to Ray D’Arcy on RTE Radio One, Mangan, who remains in contact with LeBlanc said: “Some of the stuff that people were coming up with was absolutely priceless.

“I’m not sure Matt really understands what was happening, obviously he is Italian, but he saw the funny side of it. He’s got a good sense of humour.”

Mangan also revealed that the picture perfectly depicts what kind of a person Matt is, and said: “Obviously Matt and I worked together for many years, but he came across as he is, very relaxed, very natural... no different from how you imagine he is in person.”
