Friends actor Matt LeBlanc basically had no money whatsoever when he auditioned for the role of Joey Tribiani.
The 53-year-old star played part of the Italian Stallion for 10 seasons in the hit sitcom and the job certainly changed his life and his career.
Matt reunited with his co-stars for Friends: The Reunion and reminisced about his time on the show.
Friends creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane also appeared in the one-off special and spoke about how they came to hire the six main stars of the show.
“If I remember correctly, had about $11 in his pocket when he auditioned. Maybe it was $9, but it wasn’t a lot,” Marta revealed.

David added: “We saw a lot of guys who you believed were actors, guys who liked women, but they weren’t funny.
“Then Matt came in and then suddenly, on him, the lines felt funny.”
Marta confirmed that Matt “hadn’t done an awful lot” of acting before Friends, but that he was perfect for the part.
“Matt went right down to the wire and auditioned at the network with another actor, he killed it and he got the part of Joey."

There was another actor in the running for the part of Joey, who actually ended up being in Friends in the episode where Joey tries to pretend he has a twin for an acting audition.
Speaking to host James Corden, Matt revealed that the day before his final casting call, he went out driving with a friend who he was running lines with and ended dup getting drunk and injuring his nose.

The next day, Matt was forced to go to the casting call with a huge scab on his nose and when Marta asked him what had happened, he decided to be honest and ended up getting the part of Joey.
Marta and David also spoke about how they came to hire the rest of the cast: David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matthew Perry
