Friends musical based on hit TV show coming to Scotland for a whole month

One of the most popular TV shows of all time, Friends has been turned into a musical - and it's coming to Scotland ...for a whole month.

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival will play host to "Friendsical", a parody musical written by comedian Miranda Larson.

All of the main characters, Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe will all be in attendance for the show set around the time of the first episode.

Throughout the show there will be hilarious moments and songs for everyone to join in to, including "(He's Her) Lobster!", "Richard's Moustache" and "You're Over Me? When Were You Under Me?".

The musical in Edinburgh will be running for an entire month (Reuters)

Friends almost didn't have Central Perk - and the sofa wasn't originally orange

Fans can also expect to see scenes featuring a power cut, Naked Thursdays, and a trip to a dinosaur convention. It's the most fun you'll have in Edinburgh all year.

The musical kicks off at the point that Ross has just split from ex-wife Carol and Rachel has recently run out on her wedding to Barry, Edinburgh Live reports.

The show description says: "When Ross’ wife leaves him for another woman, he fears he will never find love again

"But then Rachel runs back into his life… will he end up with his one true love?"

We all know the answer to that (she got off the plane!), but it'll be a treat to see it play out in musical form.

The new Friends parody musical will be playing at the Edinburgh Fringe (Friendsical/ Official London Theatre)

The musical will open at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham on July 15, followed by a nationwide tour visiting: Darlington, Derry, Newcastle, Kingston, Malvern, Blackpool, Chelmsford, Southampton and Croydon.

It will then arrive at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from August 1-25.
