Friends fans just spotted a major link between the show and Hocus Pocus

Each year, as October rolls around, families gather around their television to watch a true Halloween classic.

I'm talking, of course, about Hocus Pocus.

The magical movie, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy follows a teenager named Max (Omri Katz) as he accidentally resurrects three evil witches who must suck the life force out of children to stay young and beautiful.

It's a very, very different concept from the comedy sitcom Friends - but some fans have just discovered that there's a major link between the two and it's blowing people's minds.

Picture the very memorable opening credits scene that features on each episode of Friends.

Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc are all together, dancing in a fountain in front of some impressive looking buildings.

Well that same set, featuring the iconic fountain and buildings, was also used in Hocus Pocus.

Yes, really!

Towards the end of the 1993 film, Max, Allison (Vinessa Shaw), Dani (Thora Birch) and Binx (Sean Murray) believe they've defeated the Sanderson sisters at the high school.

They then run outside and begin jumping about and celebrating, in what looks like a park.

But if you take a closer look, you'll notice that park contains what would in 1994 become known to many as the 'Friends fountain'.

Many people often mistake the fountain as being located in New York.

But it's actually in in Los Angeles on Park Blvd at the Warner Bros. Ranch, or the Columbia Ranch as it is also known.

While the majority of was filmed in Salem, some parts, such as the scene in question, were shot in LA at the Warner Bros. studios - where Friends was also filmed.

The fountain has believed to have been part of the Ranch since 1935.
