Friends fans 'can't stop crying' as official trailer for reunion released

The Friends Reunion trailer has finally dropped - and unsurprisingly it's left die-hard fans in bits.

After being pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic, US streaming service HBO Max has released a first look at the one-off unscripted special which features all of the original cast members and a string of celebrity guest stars.

The six Friends - Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc - can be seen returning to the original set of the show 17 years after it ended.

Although the actors aren't in character for the reunion, they do revisit some iconic moments from the show, like the 'test' scene, in which Ross is the host and Rachel and Monica are competing with Chandler and Joey.

After waiting so long for the cast to reunite, fans rushed to Twitter to comment on how emotional it was.

"I've watched the friend trailer 28489 times and I cannot stop crying why am i like this," one person wrote on Twitter.

While another added: "God, I'm crying just from this trailer. I'm going to be a mess when I actually watch it."

And a third tweeted: "If you're not sat crying at the friends reunion trailer then you're not a fan, I won't argue with you."

Fans aren't the only ones in tears either as Courteney reminisced over the fond memories she had of the show.

Speaking of what it was like filming the reunion, she admitted: "It was unbelievable, so emotional," as it was the first time the cast had all been together on a sound stage in 15 years.

She added: "It was great—we had a lot of special surprises... it was fantastic, it really was."

The Friends reunion will air on HBO Max on 27th May.
