Friends fan spots glaring blunder as Jack Geller gets replaced with terrible stand-in

It's been almost 27 years since Friends first aired, and fans are still finding glaring blunders in the show.

The latest comes from TikTok user @bronniiieee who noticed something odd about Ross and Monica Geller's dad Jack in an episode from season eight.

The error was spotted in episode 18, 'The One in Massapequa' where the Geller parents, are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary.

Whilst at the party, Ross and Rachel discover that his parents have told all of their friends and family that the pair are married and that they want them to keep up the lie.

Did you notice this? (bronniiieee/TIKTOK)

During one scene, where Ross, Rachel, Jack and Judy are all talking, a stunned Ross says to his dad: "We have to pretend that we're married?!"

But the man he's talking to isn't Jack, instead, a stand-in actor could be seen in his place.

Not only does he not even look like him, but he's also wearing a completely different outfit.

On TikTok, the clip of the scene was captioned: "In all my Friends fan years, how have I never noticed this guy before?"

And honestly, we're not sure how we missed it either.

But it turns out there's actually a very reasonable explanation for the blunder, as Digital Spy explains.

The series was first filmed in 4:3 aspect ratio, which was the standard for that time.

However, now that 16:9 is standard, Netflix viewers are seeing the wide-angle version of the show and all the bits that should never have been spotted in the frame.
