Friends fan David Beckham says sitcom helps when he’s feeling 'low' and missing Victoria

The highly-anticipated Friends : The Reunion has finally landed and one surprise celebrity guest is none other than David Beckham.

David, 46, is a super fan of the hit sitcom and now do doubt jumped at the chance to be a part of the one-off special.

The father-of-four is grinning from ear-to-ear as he talks about the show and, in particular, his favourite episode.

Friends ran for 10 seasons in total and followed siblings Monica and Ross Geller, along with their friends Joey Tribiani, Rachel Green, Chandler Bing and Phoebe Buffay.

Asked which character he most relates to, former footballer David replied: "I would have to say I’m most like Monica because I’m a clean freak!"

He continued: "You know I travel a lot and I’m always in hotels, I’ve always got down time. When I’m missing the kids, when I’m missing the family, I put on Friends because it makes me smile."

Referring to his stand out episode of the show, he said: "My favourite episode has to be where they’re all getting ready in the apartment.

"Ross is hurrying everyone up coz he has a huge speech to make and he’s nervous. When Chandler goes to the toilet, Joey sits in Chandler’s chair and when he comes back it all escalates!

"It’s one of those episodes that when I’m away and I’m feeling a little bit low, I put it on and it makes me smile - almost to the point of crying," he added.

Other celebrities who appear in the reunion are fellow Brit James Corden, who hosts it, and pop star Lady Gaga.

Gaga was lucky enough to sing a rendition of Phoebe's famous song 'Smelly Cat' with Lisa Kudrow in Central Perk.

"Thank you and thanks for carrying it along," Lisa replied.

The reunion also sees the cast reenact certain scenes and also shows previously unseen blooper footage of them all back in the day.
