The friends and family of a supermarket legend headed beach-bound to raise money for a cancer charity.
Former Ayr Morrisons manager Allan Blest died of cancer two years ago, aged just 43.
The father-of-two’s family, friends and colleagues wanted to do something in his memory.
So they headed to Ayr beach for a sponsored walk in aid of Ayrshire Cancer Support, who supported the family after their loss.
Mum Jean, dad Ken, wife Lynn and daughters Abbie, 17, and Ellie, 18, linked arms as they marched for Allan.
Friend Liz Wason organised the event which managed to raise a whopping £1,300.
Liz said: “I used to work in Morrisons and Allan was my boss there for nine years.

“Allan sadly passed away two years ago after having been diagnosed with cancer, so this was something very close to our hearts at Morrisons.
“We did some things last year to fundraise and this year we decided that we were going to do the walk.
“And we also had a JustGiving page which was really successful.
“His whole family were there so it was a really good family thing as well.
“It was about giving something back in his memory.”
Laura Brown, of Ayrshire Cancer Support, said: “We are always touched when people decide to raise funds to help support Ayrshire Cancer Support’s work.
“We would like to thank the family and friends of Allan Blest who have gone out of their way to give back to the local community who are affected by cancer.”
Allan’s JustGiving page has now been closed but donations to Ayrshire Cancer Support can be made by clicking here .
